The set of amorphous alloys with different contents of metals (W, Mo, Co and Ni) were obtained onto the AISI 1035 steel surface by electrospark deposition in crystalline granules mixtures used as electrode materials. The prepared coatings were characterized in terms of microstructure, thermal behavior, corrosion and the mechanical properties including oxidation at 700 degrees C, polarization in 3.5% NaCl, microhardness and wear resistance. The doping of metallic glass coatings by tungsten and nickel improves anticorrosion properties in both high temperature oxidation and electrochemical corrosion. Tungsten and cobalt increase the wear resistance of Fe based amorphous coatings. Metallic glass coatings formed by electrospark granules deposition could be good candidates for protection of AISI 1035 steel against corrosion and dry sliding wear.
