This paper depicts the role of polyamines as priming agents on germination, seedling vigour and anti-oxidative responses of tomato seeds. Priming was achieved by exposing fresh seeds of tomato cultivars Roma and Nagina to 50 mg/L. Putrescine (Put), 50 mg/L Spermine (Spin) and 50 mg/L Spermidine (Spd) aerated solutions for 24 h. Priming with Spm and Spd improved sced germination. seedling vigour and enhanced anti-oxidative activity. However, priming with Put failed to improve seed vigour which relates to the decreased anti-oxidative activity in tomato seeds.
