Ni-catalyzed asymmetric decarboxylative Mannich reaction for the synthesis of β-trifluoromethyl-β-amino ketones

A new Ni-catalyzed asymmetric decarboxylative Mannich reaction between (S-s)-N-t-butylsulfinyl-3,3,3-trifluoro-acetaldimine and beta-keto-acids was developed, which was carried out at room temperature affording beta-trifluoromethyl-beta-amino ketones with excellent yields and diastereoselectivities.
