Evaluating the flow behaviour of powders for die fill performance

Uniformity is an important quality attribute of products manufactured via the powder route, such as structural powder metallurgy (PM) parts, ceramics, hardmetals, magnets, detergents, pharmaceutical tablets, etc. Uniformity can be regarded in terms of weight, composition and structure variations from part to part or within a compact and can be traced, in a good number of cases, to die fill.
