Miniemulsion polymerization, a kind of heterogeneous polymerization method, is being more and more used for synthesis of various novel organic-inorganic hybrid materials. In this review, we would seek to highlight the recent development of organic-inorganic nanocomposites synthesized via miniemulsion polymerization. The examples demonstrate that the inorganic nanoparticles, such as oxide magnets, clays, carbon, silica, titanium dioxide, etc., can be embedded inside the polymers or as armor on the surfaces of polymer particles via miniemulsion polymerization to form organic-inorganic nanocomposites with various morphologies.
