Self-consistent description of proton radioactivity

Proton radioactivity from spherical nuclei is described by a fully self-consistent calculation based on relativistic density functionals derived from meson exchange and point coupling models. The experimental data are well reproduced and a strong evidence of the effects of configuration mixing is found for nuclei away from the N = 82 magic number. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V.
