Temperature-dependent Raman study of multiferroic Bi2NiMnO6 thin films

The Raman spectra of Bi(2)CoMnO(6) (BNMO) thin films, grown on (001)-SrTiO(3), (001)-NdGaO(3) (NGO), and (110)-DySCO(3) substrates, have been measured in the temperature range 80-700 K. The spectra are similar to those of La(2)NiMnO(6) and La(2)CoMnO(6), the position of the main peak at 610-620 cm(-1) being sensitive to the type of substrate. The softening below 140 K and a steplike anomaly at 420-490 K of the main Raman peak frequency provide strong evidence that the structural, magnetic, and ferroelectric properties of the BNMO/NGO films are similar to those of the bulk material.
