A two-fluorophore FRET system provided a more general approach than previously described fluorescence techniques to observing and quantifying organometallic complexes under reaction conditions. Over the concentration range of 3 x 10(-7) to 5 x 10(-6) M, this method provided quantification with faster time resolution and greater sensitivity, than is possible with NMR spectroscopy.
