Experimental demonstration of an optical differentiator based on a fiber Bragg grating in transmission

We report the first experimental demonstration of single transmissive fiber Bragg grating implementation of a first-order optical differentiation. The device has been designed and fabricated, and the experimental results show a good performance over an operational bandwidth of similar to 2 nm. (C) 2013 Optical Society of America
