Polarization dependent loss of mechanically induced long-period fibre gratings

We present results on the measurements of polarization dependent loss (PDL) of mechanically induced long-period fibre gratings. It is shown that a proper choice of the fabrication parameters leads to a considerable reduction of PDL values. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
