Pyrrolidine-diaminomethylenemalononitrile (pyrrolidine-DMM) organocatalyst has been an efficient reaction medium to promote asymmetric direct aldol reactions to afford the corresponding addition products in high yields with up to 99% ee under solvent-free conditions.
