TiO2/BaBiO3 composites were prepared through a pore impregnating method and characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic techniques. The composites exhibit higher photocatalytic activity than pure TiO2 toward degradation of gaseous benzene under ultraviolet light irradiation. The effects of TiO2 loading on the photocatalytic activity were investigated and the optimization of the TiO2/BaBiO3 composite was obtained. The enhanced mechanism was also suggested.
