A new rust species of Coleosporium on Ligularia fischeri from China

Coleosporium zhuangii, a new species on Ligularia fischeri, is described from China. Light and scanning electron microscopy observation indicate that this species is morphologically distinct from other known Coleosporium species in urediniospore-surface structure, urediniospore shape and size, and the teliospore arrangement in telia.
