Mycena variicystis is described as a new species collected from a peat swamp forest at Chaloem Phrakiat Somdet Phra Thep Wildlife Sanctuary-Phru Toh Daeng Peat Swamp in southern Thailand. A comprehensive description and illustrations are provided.
