An oligoarylsilane dendrimer containing peripheral 2,2'-bithienyl groups and bis(2,2'-bithien-5-y1)-1,4-phenylene fragments as the central moieties of the molecule has been synthesized; it exhibited efficient intramolecular energy transfer and a high quantum efficiency of luminescence.
