Well-dispersed uniform gold nanorings of 100 nm size were fabricated by slow photochemical reduction of aqueous gold(III) on compacted DNA of toroidal morphology, along with deposition of a thin gold layer on DNA condensates. The outer and inner diameters of nanorings were 105 +/- 17 nm and 26 +/- 14 nm, respectively. Crown Copyright (C) 2014 Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
