The ceramic system prepared by the conventional solid state method was investigated for its microstructures and microwave dielectric properties. To achieve a temperature-stable material, two compounds with negative and positive temperature coefficients were employed to form mixed phases. The microwave dielectric properties are strongly correlated with composition. For practical application, a dielectric constant (epsilon(r)) of 37, a quality factor (Qxf value) of 43,000 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (tau(f)) of 1 ppm/degrees C for 0.6Sm(Co1/2Ti1/2)O-3-0.4CaTiO(3) sintered at 1420 degrees C are proposed.
