This paper presents a regeneration-free immunosensor based on a novel magnetic Fe3O4@gold composite nanomaterial, which is able to form a protein/composite nanomaterial due to the stability and biocompatibility of the gold nanomaterial. This enabled simple, effective and controllable detection by immunosensors. In this work, the strategy has been applied to alpha-1-fetoprotein as a model system; however, it could be extended toward other clinically or environmentally interesting biological compounds.
