Thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and heat capacity per unit volume of silica added (SiO2=0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 wt.%) Sr-hexa ferrites have been measured using transient plane source (TPS) technique. The measurements have been made at normal pressure and in the temperature range from 303K to 473 K. It has been noted that both thermal conductivity (lambda) and thermal diffusivity (K) increase with temperature whereas heat capacity per unit volume (rho C-p) decreases. Addition of SiO2 concentration in the Sr-ferrite increases the values of lambda and K but decreases the rho C-p over the entire range of temperature under investigation. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
