In this work, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra were applied to study the bulk band gap of ZnO nano-structures. Photoluminescence spectra and O1s XPS spectra of as-prepared ZnO nanostructures were analyzed by fitting with the Gaussian function, respectively. The components deconvoluted from 0 Is XPS spectra were applied to interpret the photoluminescence properties of ZnO nanostructures. The results indicated that the green emission band in PL spectrum of ZnO nanostructures is associated with the chemisorbed O in the O Is XPS spectra. A facet-dependent optical property was found for ZnO nanostructure. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
