Angiogenic activity of classical hematopoietic cytokines

Hematopoiesis is regulated by several cytokines with pleiotropic activity. Several evidences have clearly demonstrated that these molecules, formerly regarded as specific for the hematopoietic system, also affect certain endothelial cell functions and that hematopoietic factors clearly influence angiogenesis.
