Uncovered TiO2 nanoparticles were shown to provide bactericidal activity against the three pathogens: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans at irradiation by blue (405 nm) light. It was found that the combination of a photocatalyst (TiO2-nanoparticles) and a photosensitizer (methylene blue) at two-wavelength irradiation with blue (405 nm) and red (625 nm) light provides a pronounced antimicrobial effect.
