The paper studied the impact of the pH and temperature on kinetics of ozone decomposition in water. It has been shown that in the pH range 4 to 8 it is well described by the equation of the second order reaction. At an increase of the pH and temperature the rate of ozone decomposition increases. The relationship between the logarithm of the constant and the pH at 19A degrees C corresponds to the equation log k((pH)) = -0.7 + (0.49 +/- 0.03)(pH 4). The energy of ozone decomposition activation constitutes 76.0 +/- 8.3 kJ/mol. The presence in the solution of phosphate ions and tert-butyl alcohol substantially increases the rate of the decomposition chain process.
