Three-dimensional SnS2 hierarchitectures have been fabricated via a facile solvothermal method. A possible growth mechanism has been propounded based on the time-dependent experiments. As anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the SnS2 hierarchitectures display long-term cycle stability and excellent high-rate performance. A high specific capacity of 549.5 mA h g(-1) is achieved at a current density of 100 mA g(-1) after 100 discharge/charge cycles. The superior electrochemical performances of SnS2 as lithium-ion batteries anode material can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the specific porous structure and the thin nanosheets.
