An environmental friendly approach is introduced for the synthesis of SnO2 nanoparticles using the aloe vera plant extract. Biological materials of microorganisms, plants, enzymes have been suggested as an ecological alternative for conventional reagents in physical and chemical methods. The biomolecules of aloe vera plant extract induced the metal salts to form the corresponding their corresponding hydroxides. The crystallinity temperature to produce SnO2 nanoparticles was determined by TG/DTA studies. The prepared SnO2 nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, SEM with EDX and AFM to confirm the formation of nanosized particles. Optical properties of SnO2 nanoparticles were analyzed by UV-Vis studies. SnO2 nanoparticles were treated on cotton fabric by pad dry cure method to impart antibacterial activity. Treated cotton with SnO2 were analyzed by SEM with EDX and antibacterial evaluation by Agar diffusion method. SnO2 nanoparticles exhibit more inhibition with S.aureus, a gram positive strain compared with E.coli, a gram negative strain.
