Synthesis, Micro-Structural and Optical Properties of Cr Doped ZnS Nanoparticles Prepared by Chemical Precipitation Method

In this paper we reported the micro-structural and optical properties of 6% and 8% Cr doped ZnS nanoparticles which have been synthesized by chemical precipitation method at room temperature. The samples are annealed at 250 degrees C for about 5 hours. High purity of the samples is confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The micro-structural properties such as grain size, strain and dislocation density are calculated from XRD. Morphology analysis is done by scanning electron microscopy technique. The UV-Vis spectroscopy technique is employed to calculate the band gap and the particle size of the materials. In the photoluminescence technique, quenching is observed and the band gap is also calculated.
