(Pt-C-60)@SiO2 nanocomposites with a core-shell structure have been successfully synthesized by a step-by-step method. These hollow nanocomposites are capable of reversible hydrogen storage at appropriate temperature and atmospheric pressure, with a capacity of around 1.8 wt% (based on C-60).
