The unique possibilities of current-voltage and force-displacement curve recordings and delicate nanomanipulation of individual inorganic nanotubes under the ultimate spatial resolution typical of high-resolution transmission electron microscope are demonstrated. The examples include metal- or ceramic-filled and nitrogen-doped multi-walled carbon nanotubes, multi-walled boron nitride nanotubes, and gallium-filled magnesium oxide, and indium-filled silica nanotube thermometers''.
