Iodine: Selectively Promote the Synthesis of Mono Substituted Quinazolin-4(3H)-ones and 2,3-Dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones in One-Pot

A general and versatile one-pot three-component procedure for the selective synthesis of mono substituted quinazolin-4(3H)-ones and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones were described. The selectivity could be controlled by the ratio of iodine concentration.
