This article presents a model of explosive transformation initiation under low-velocity impacts. It also describes 2D simulation by the LEGAK-3D code system of two series of experiments on impacting samples of HMX-based high explosive (HE) by a spherical fragment of mass 12g and by an impactor of mass 2.76kg and presents results of computations. The model was verified during the computational process, and a single set of parameters was selected to describe all experiments. The numerical simulation results are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data, both in the description of the explosive transformation initiation conditions and in the description of their evolution.
