50 mm diameter Li2MoO4 crystals were grown by the Czochralski technique. The crystals had 80-95% transmission in 300-1100 nm spectrum range. Raman spectra of crystals cut along and transversely to the crystallographic C-axis were measured for the first time. FR-spectra of polycrystalline Li(2)VioO(4) were obtained and compared with the Raman-spectra and the fundamental frequencies of the MoOi- in water solution. In case of nominally pure Li2MoO4 crystals the difference in the Raman spectra for the crystal with different crystallographic orientations was estimated. For the same modes the maximal difference was about two times for the Raman peaks intensities. (C) 2013 Elsevier By. All rights reserved.
