The approach that the layman must always know where to turn for health problems has existed for years. Printed and other advertising activities are often used to educate the general population. However, it is no secret that-in reality-this is generally difficult to achieve. The article aims to show how Lower Austria emergency services views its role within the health care system in Lower Austria and to also present ideas regarding future requirements important for health communication centers. Research and analysis of the current literature Thus, emergency rescue teams are deployed to treat less serious colds because of aEurobreathlessness or the patient with acute coronary syndrome seeks medical help by walking to the physician's practice that is on standby. Therefore, many countries have already developed systems which assume the gatekeeper role in order to immediately direct the patient to the correct place. This is the responsibility of the Lower Austria emergency services, which has been commissioned to plan and implement this project. Such a system can be only established with close quality management in conjunction with high-quality, protocol-based telephone or web consultant services. The initiation of and participation in research projects is part of this comprehensive approach for Lower Austria emergency services.
