In the present study, chitosan nanoparticles were obtained by the gelation of chitosan by heptamolybdate anions and dried with dry CO2 for 30 minutes. Chitosan nanoparticles efficiently proceeded the Hantzsch reaction at 80 degrees C under metal and solvent free conditions. The present method offers several advantages such as a simple procedure, green conditions, excellent yields and short reaction time.
