The region of Al-Ni-Cr above 60 at.% All was specified at 700-900 degrees C. In total. the ternary extensions of the binary Al-Cr phases were found to be the theta-phase up to 2 at.% of Ni, the eta-phase, gamma-phase and nu-phase up to 1 at.% of Ni and the gamma-phase(s) up to 3 at.% of Ni The binary Al(3)Ni phase dissolves around 1 at % of Cr and the Al-Ni delta-phase up to similar to 3 at.% of Cr. In addition to the reported earlier ternary zeta-phase (hexagonal, a approximate to 1.78, c approximate to 123 nm) and F-phase (orthorhombic, a approximate to 1.26, b approximate to 3.48. c approximate to 2.02 nm), two ternary phases designated zeta(1) and phi were confirmed. The zeta(1)-phase is stable at 700 and 800 degrees C in a compositional range around Al(82)Ni(9)Cr(15). Its structure is closely related to the structure of the zeta-phase. A rhombohedral lattice with a approximate to 2.87 nm, alpha approximate to 36 degrees (a approximate to 177 and c approximate to 8.04 nm in the hexagonal coordinates) was associated with this phase The phi-phase (monoclinic, a approximate to 133, b approximate to 1.25, c approximate to 11.25 nm and beta approximate to 100 degrees) was found to be stable below 835 degrees C around Al(80)Ni(9)Cr(11).
