We present a finite element method for non-linear and nearly incompressible elasticity. The formulation is based on Petrov-Galerkin discretization for the pressure and is closely related to the average nodal pressure formulation presented earlier in the context of incompressible and nearly incompressible dynamic explicit applications (Commun.
