A simple explanation of Schottky condition through striations

Striations are characteristics of do glow discharges at low pressures. These bright and dark layers occur in many partially ionized gases and positive columns, which indicate different characteristics of do glow discharge plasmas. Here, the variance of temperature and spatial frequency along a discharge tube with different diameter and highly dependence of striations on the gas pressure are demonstrated.
