NEW INDOLE ALKALOIDS FROM MELODINUS HENRYI

Two new indole alkaloids, melodinoxanine (1) and N-b-methylnortetraphyllicine (2), were isolated from the stems and leaves of Melodinus henryi growing in Yunnan, China. Melodinoxanine (1) is a unique oxindole alkaloid with an extra oxygen atom in the C-ring of a heteroyohimbine skeleton.
