The glioblastoma brain tumour (GBM) is the most aggressive and treatment-resistant malignancy. However, the gut-brain axis is crucial for the growth and stimulation of the CNS. Fecal samples were collected from 15 healthy volunteers and 25 GBM patients. To delve into the microbial content, we employed PCR-DGGE targeting the V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene. qPCR was also conducted to quantify the crucial intestinal bacteria. High-throughput sequencing targeting the V3+V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was performed. Delving into genera statistics, a substantial increase in the abundance of Parasutterella, Escherichia-Shigella, and Bacteroides in GBM group compared to the control group. Furthermore, species results revealed a significant increase of Bacteroides vulgatus and Escherichia coli in the GBM group. Thus, GBM patients have significant gut microbial dysbiosis. So, the current research opens up new strategies to comprehend the disease mechanisms, pathways, and treatment of GBM patients.
