海报摘要

Ventilated supercavities are being studied to reduce underwater drag, but maintaining and controlling their stability are challenging. Accurately predicting the supercavity shape under various flow conditions is crucial and the key is to understanding the gas loss law of supercavities. We numerically analyze shear flows on ventilated supercavitaty walls based on the gas–vapor–water multi-fluid model. It is shown that the external shear layer is thinner and has an irregular outer boundary compared to the internal layer. Analysis reveals similar velocity changes along the radial direction in the shear layer for all phases, but gas and water phases show opposite distribution trends. When natural cavitation occurs, vapor accumulates in the head of the supercavity and its velocity is higher than gas velocity and slightly lower than water velocity. Based on these findings, a gas loss model for ventilated supercavitating flows is established and validated.
