The first paper I wrote was the safety and risk analysis section that I submitted. Because it was my first time, I basically checked the status every day during the waiting process and recorded it for reference for future friends. The external review took three months, and after the external review comments came out, I anxiously waited for more than twenty days before receiving the reply for revisions. After making the revisions, I submitted them, and the next day I was accepted at lightning speed and published online in the same month. Although the external review was really long (mainly because I was eagerly anticipating it every day), the efficiency from revision to publication was really high. You can refer to my timeline.
