Just got assigned a French editor, who instantly rejected it on the spot. It was a refreshing and straightforward rejection. I suspect he was here to increase the journal's rejection rate, haha. The research topic was on intelligent fault diagnosis, a hot topic in the journal, and I cited several references from the same journal. The reason for rejection was that it didn't meet the journal's scope and suggested transferring it to another journal. They even provided a list of suggested journals for transfer, and surprisingly, it included "measurement." Hmm... I don't quite understand. Maybe it's simply because this editor didn't find my manuscript appealing.

Measurement is truly a miraculous journal. I submitted my paper and it was accepted in just one month. However, my senior fellow took three months to review it, and after revisions, the second review has been ongoing for almost 8 months now, with no outcome yet...

Let me briefly share my own journey:
December 14, 2020: Submitted manuscript.
January 16, 2021: Accepted after minor revisions.
January 22, 2021: Requested revisions.
January 24, 2021: Accepted.
The process in between was quite fast, and it felt like there was no external review after the revisions, as the editor directly accepted it. So, it seems that the speed of this journal mainly depends on the editor. My editor, Aime' Lay-Ekuakille, was exceptionally fast.

From start to finish, it took a total of four months. We invited seven reviewers for the initial review and received 17 comments from four of them. The editor made major revisions within 20 days and provided response comments to all four reviewers after the modifications were made. However, during the second review, only three reviewers' comments were seen and the editor accepted the manuscript based on those. It took a lot of effort for the first SCI paper, but fortunately, the results were satisfactory and it was published in a good journal. Currently, the journal has an impact factor of 3.927 according to the data provided by the Chinese Academy of Sciences for 2020. Since my paper is considered for 2022, I hope the impact factor will be even higher by the time I graduate.

@可不以: I couldn't find an official template, so I formatted it according to the typical paper format without columns. During the submission stage, the editor and reviewers mainly focused on the content, while the publication process is handled by Elsevier, so there was no need to find a template.
