The journal is indeed very slow, and I do not recommend students to submit papers. The timing is not enough. I found that the editor only works once a month. If your paper is not processed during that time, you have to wait until the next month. The editor generally handles submissions on the 14th of each month. My submission experience was roughly as follows: After submitting, it became a "new submission" because I submitted on the 16th and missed the deadline. I had to wait until the 14th of the following month for the manuscript to be returned with a request for supplementary statements. After submitting the requested statements, I had to wait until the 14th of the next month for it to become "with editor". This status lasted for three months before it became "under review". The external review lasted for six months, and then I received major revisions. After submitting the revisions, I had to wait until the 14th of the following month for it to become "with editor" again. It took about a month for it to become "under review" again, which lasted for three months. Then, I received minor revision comments. After submitting the minor revisions, I had to wait until the 14th of the next month. It became "with editor" again, and it continued for another month before it became "decision in process". This status lasted until the 14th of the following month when it was finally accepted. To my knowledge, this is the general timeline for the journal, and it is extremely slow. Even if the paper is accepted, it is not satisfying because I couldn't meet the scholarship deadlines. It is too slow.

The submission was not assigned an editor for two months. It was assigned an editor in the third month, but got rejected in the fifth month without external review. The reason for rejection was that it was deemed unsuitable for this journal. It's really frustrating and a waste of six months. Isn't it irritating?
