Food Analytical Methods publishes original articles, review articles, and notes on novel and/or state-of-the-art analytical methods or issues to be solved, as well as significant improvements or interesting applications to existing methods. These include analytical technology and methodology for food microbial contaminants, food chemistry and toxicology, food quality, food authenticity and food traceability. The journal covers fundamental and specific aspects of the development, optimization, and practical implementation in routine laboratories, and validation of food analytical methods for the monitoring of food safety and quality.

I have seen many people say that this journal's review process is very slow. Overall, I feel that the initial review speed is quite fast. However, after submitting minor revisions, it has been in the editor's review status for over a week without any news. I don't know if it will be sent for external review or if the editor will make a direct decision. Waiting is making me anxious.

Overall, this journal is still very good. The reviewers are very serious, and the editors are also good. I will continue to wait for updates.

This journal is relatively slow. First, the editor decides whether to review the manuscript or not, which takes about 40 days. This is because the editorial department and the editor are separate entities. The editorial department checks the formatting before the editor can receive the manuscript. Then, the editor finds reviewers. Overall, it takes about 5 months from submission to acceptance, but it depends on luck when it comes to online publication. Some may be fast, while others may be slow. It is not uncommon for the slow ones to take up to six months, while the fast ones may be accepted within a month.
