The purpose of Ciência Rural is to publish the results of original research, note and reviews which contribute significantly to knowledge in Agricultural Sciences. Preference will be given to original articles that develop news concepts or experimental approaches and are not merely repositories of scientific data. The decison of acceptance for publication lies with the Editors and is based on the recommendations of Editorial Comission, Area Committee and/ or ad hoc reviewers. The editors and reviewers are external to the institution.

Objectively speaking, the reviewers are attentive, conscientious, and responsible. The publication fee is also cheap. The only drawback is that the review process is too long. It has been nearly a year or even more since I submitted my paper, and I can't remember the exact timeline. It feels like it takes at least two to three months for each round of revisions before receiving a response, and sometimes I almost forget about it. I don't know when it will be published and indexed, but I don't expect it to be soon.

The reviewing speed is too slow. It took about three months before and after each revision for my 11-plus months.
