$100,000CAD The total amount available for this prize is $100,000, enough to fund one prize for one year. The prize consists of a medal and a grant. CIHR's financial contributions for this initiative are subject to availability of funds. Should CIHR funding levels not be available or are decreased due to unforeseen circumstances, CIHR reserves the right to reduce, defer or suspend financial contributions funds received as a result of this prize.

Nominations will only be accepted from institutions, organizations and networks with a recognized standing in the research and/or knowledge translation communities. Nominations may be submitted for individuals or teams within the Canadian context. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

CIHR's Gold Leaf Prize for Discovery is awarded to individuals or teams whose research findings are unique, innovative and represent a ground-breaking discovery in any pillar of health research that has been seen to significantly influence knowledge in the field. Eligibility Nominations will only be accepted from institutions, organizations and networks with a recognized standing in the research and/or knowledge translation communities. Nominations may be submitted for individuals or teams within the Canadian context. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
