Our panel explores students' experiences with caring responsibilities (e.g., parenthood) in the context of international mobility.
While student mobility research considers factors like gender and ethnicity, it often overlooks the challenges faced by student parents. We aim to fill this gap by examining:
How social norms and family arrangements influence mobility decisions.
The role of higher education institutions and host countries in supporting these students.
The obstacles faced by student parents and their strategies for navigating them.
We welcome papers addressing questions like:
How do parenting expectations impact student mobility?
How do family structures influence international study plans?
What can universities do to support student parents?
What support systems do host countries offer?
How do student parents negotiate mobility limitations?
What challenges do they encounter?

The computing continuum offers a wide range of innovative services (e.g., computation offloading, sites collaboration, and context awareness) that changed the concept of computing models. However, there are potential opportunities for improvement that lead to more efficient and elastic services, and challenges need to be investigated in the continuum. A better understanding of the computing continuum will guide researchers and developers in tackling and overcoming these challenges to enable the computing continuum and support the vision by a use case.
Fostering Innovation in Smart Technologies: 8th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Smart Technologies (ISAS 2024)
The 8th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Smart Technologies (ISAS 2024) invites researchers and developers to contribute to shaping the future of various engineering fields through smart technologies. AI for Software Engineering Workshop: Collaboration and Innovation
The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS) at Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg (JMU) and BAYHOST are organizing a Workshop on AI for Software Engineering from September 30th to October 1st, 2024, in Würzburg, Germany. This workshop aims to bring together researchers to explore how artificial intelligence can improve understanding and utilization of software development processes.
The workshop focuses on three key areas:
- Large language models for software development: Exploring how these models can assist with tasks like code generation and documentation.
- AI-based prediction of software defects: Utilizing AI to identify potential problems before they occur.

This is an invitation to a workshop on math, coding, and AI. It discusses the workshop's entails, the target audience, and the computer requirements.
The workshop will be a hands-on experience. Participants will learn how to develop a game using Scratch coding and machine learning. They will also learn about mathematical equation graphs.
The target audience includes students in grades 6-12, teachers, parents, and adults [1]. The minimum eligibility requirement is one week of experience with Scratch coding or one month of experience with any other computer programming language.
To participate in the workshop, a computer with a webcam, internet connection, and internet browser is required. Tablet computers are also acceptable, but cell phones are not recommended.

Agri-Food Supply Chain Transparency with Blockchain
This paper explores challenges in the Agri-food supply chain, where farmers rely on a network of sensors to monitor product quality. The main issue is ensuring data transparency and security throughout the chain, preventing tampering or manipulation.
Blockchain technology is proposed as a solution because it can track data securely and transparently. However, managing a large network of sensors presents its security concerns.
The authors introduce a new architecture that utilizes Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) to manage sensor data. This allows farmers to define what data each sensor can collect and transmit, ensuring data integrity. Authorized users can then access this data securely.
The paper highlights the efficiency of this approach, demonstrating fast data processing and retrieval times. This architecture improves data security and transparency and enhances the overall management of sensor networks in the Agri-Food supply chain.

This research presents new methods to find frequently appearing connected subgraphs within large datasets. The algorithms identify and eliminate redundant searches and utilize a special structure to compare subgraphs efficiently. This approach is particularly effective for datasets with many labels and when searching for common subgraphs. The researchers plan to expand this technique to find other frequent graph patterns.
