Bullying victimization and its life-course shadows: evidence from China

Summary: This study examines the relationship between adolescent bullying victimization and educational and psychological outcomes in China using a 15-year longitudinal dataset. The results show that prior academic achievement can protect against subsequent bullying victimization. Adolescent bullying victimization has adverse effects on short-term educational achievement and behavioral problems, but has limited impact on long-term self-esteem and depression in adulthood. Gender differences are also notable, with girls experiencing more negative psychological outcomes and boys experiencing lower educational attainment due to bullying victimization.

Evolutions in hegemonic discourses of climate change: An ecomodern enactment of implicatory denial

Summary: The article analyzes public media talk on climate denial discourse and examines how speakers employ different discourses to justify delaying immediate action on climate change. The analysis indicates an evolving public discussion, where explicit denial of climate science is seen as an extreme view, and a more mainstream discourse, known as ecomodern discourse, aligns with climate science but delays necessary action by using fear scenarios to oppose disruption of the status quo and relying on technology to solve climate change.

It highlights the fact that Africans were often portrayed by African American and Afro-Latin actors or by actors in blackface, perpetuating racial stereotypes. The study highlights the feasibility of incorporating the welfare of farmed animals into the SDGs.

Through a review of previous research, no significant attempts to quantitatively measure biocultural diversity in Italy were found. Although Italy shows a high number of mutual interactions, there is no clear evidence of common drivers and patterns between biological and cultural diversity.

The double burden of malnutrition among young Chinese children: a hierarchical structure of socioeconomic inequality indicators

Are general skills important for vocationally educated?

Multidimensional Measures of Militarization (M3): A Global Dataset

African women's trajectories and the Casa dos Estudantes do Império

Summary: This article compares the trajectories of different women who were members of the Casa dos Estudantes do Imperio (CEI), a formal institution created by Portuguese colonial students in Lisbon in 1944 and played a significant role in the political and social paths of African national liberation movement leaders. However, historical research has mainly focused on male narratives, leaving the roles and lives of women in relation to CEI largely unexplored. By approaching these trajectories from a transnational and Afro-Iberian perspective and analyzing multiple sources, this article aims to reflect on the diversity of gender, race, class, and political ideology.
