Bacteria in the healthy equine vagina during the estrous cycle

Summary: An understanding of the normal bacterial microbiota of any organ is important to study the changes that may occur due to different conditions or interventions. This study aimed to investigate the bacterial microbiota of the mare vagina and its changes throughout the estrous cycle. The results showed that there was an increase in bacterial diversity during the estrous cycle, with the highest diversity observed on day 14.

Outcome of subsequent pregnancies in women with prior uterine rupture

Performance of fetal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging in predicting birthweight according to the test-to-delivery interval: A cohort study

Summary: The objective of this study was to assess the influence of the test-to-delivery interval on the performance of ultrasound and MRI in predicting birthweight. The results showed that MRI performed best in predicting birthweight greater than gestational age if delivery occurred within two weeks of the examination, with a slight decrease thereafter, while ultrasound performance decreased drastically over time.

Implementing these models can more accurately predict the number of retrieved oocytes, optimizing physicians' decisions, balancing workloads, and creating more standardized yet patient-specific protocols.

Endometrial protein expression and phosphorylation landscape decipher aberrant insulin and mTOR signalling in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss

Induction of labor versus expectant management in patients with idiopathic polyhydramnios

Summary: This study investigated the toxic effects and mechanism of beta-CYP and EMB on the reproductive system of female rats. The findings support the evaluation of the adverse effects of pesticide exposure on reproductive health in greenhouse operations.

Gym lifestyle factors and male reproductive health: a study into young adult usage and perceptions

An overview of CFTR mutation profiles and assisted reproductive technology outcomes in Chinese patients with congenital obstructive azoospermia

Summary: This study conducted an epidemiological survey of patients with congenital obstructive azoospermia (OA), screened for CFTR mutations, and analyzed the pregnancy outcomes in assisted reproductive technology. The results showed that the genetic mutation pattern of CFTR in Chinese OA patients is heterogeneous and carrying two CFTR mutations did not affect pregnancy outcomes. However, genetic counseling is still recommended for these patients.

Oral dydrogesterone versus micronized vaginal progesterone for luteal phase support: a double-blind crossover study investigating pharmacokinetics and impact on the endometrium

Summary: This study aimed to compare the pharmacokinetics, endometrial histology, transcriptomics, and immune cell composition of oral dydrogesterone and micronized vaginal progesterone for luteal phase support. The results showed that although plasma concentrations of dydrogesterone significantly increased after oral intake, its effect on the endometrium was similar to micronized vaginal progesterone. Oral dydrogesterone exhibited rapid clearance, and dosing frequency may be an important factor in its efficacy.

Can AMH levels predict the need to step up FSH dose for controlled ovarian stimulation following a long GnRH agonist protocol in PCOS women?

Summary: The study aimed to explore the role of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in predicting the need for increased recombinant FSH (rFSH) dose in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) women undergoing IVF/ICSI cycles. The results showed that increased AMH level was an independent factor for the need to increase the initial rFSH dose in PCOS patients. AMH could serve as a predictor of the need for initial rFSH dose.

Life satisfaction in parents after successful in vitro fertilization and natural pregnancy: a prospective longitudinal study from before pregnancy to 24 months after childbirth

Summary: Psychological variables in couples undergoing IVF and those with natural pregnancy were compared. IVF couples had less favorable baseline scores for all variables, but experienced an improvement in life satisfaction and a decrease in stress and worry during the first year postpartum. Couples with natural pregnancy reported temporary worsening in all variables during this period. During follow-up, all variables remained stable in both groups, with no differences in life satisfaction and stress between groups, but lower levels of worry in IVF couples at month 24. Infertility's negative impacts may fully abate after childbirth in IVF couples, while initially negative changes in well-being are reversed and stabilized in naturally conceiving couples during the child's first 2 years. Psychological support may benefit both groups at different times during pregnancy and parenthood.
