Spirituality for Coping with the Trauma of a Loved One's Death During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Italian Qualitative Study

The findings suggest that spirituality acts as a protective factor in processing grief, particularly for those who believe in an otherworldly dimension for the deceased. Additionally, funeral rituals provide support and lay the foundation for a healthy mourning process. Therefore, supporting individual spirituality is crucial in navigating traumatic experiences.

What if it were True? Why Study the New Testament

Utilizing the philosophical thoughts of Kierkegaard, Cavell, Diamond, and Gadamer, the article explores the implications of truth in the interpretations of the New Testament. Additionally, the article exegetes five passages to illustrate the need for judgment on truth claims in the New Testament. The article also engages with contemporary scholars who debate the necessity and validity of theological readings of the New Testament.

Summary: Lifestyles are evidence for the influence of systems, cultures and civilizations in societies. This study investigated the relationship between Islamic lifestyle and social health among 1000 Muslim teachers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The results showed a significant positive correlation between Islamic lifestyle and social health.

Gender Differences in Forgiveness and its Affective Correlates

Summary: In comparing men and women, it was found that men have a higher general forgiveness level and a greater willingness to overcome unforgiveness. However, there was no significant difference in positive facets of the disposition to forgive. Furthermore, the relationships between emotional traits and dispositional forgiveness varied between the genders, with females showing a negative association between controlling anxiety and forgiveness while males showed a positive association.

THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON PALLIATIVE CARE IN INPATIENT HOSPICES IN SLOVAKIA

Summary: Palliative care is an important aspect of healthcare during pandemics, and this study examines the preparedness and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on hospices in Slovakia. The results show that hospices in Slovakia were able to adapt quickly and effectively to the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Spiritual Care in Hospitalized Patients in Iran: An Action Research Study

Summary: Religious practices can enhance the sense of merit and hope by addressing feelings of isolation, but there are barriers to spiritual care provision in hospitals, with lack of professional knowledge and organizational obstacles being key issues. This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to identify and address these barriers, leading to a significant increase in patient satisfaction after the provision of spiritual care.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted countries globally, regardless of their level of development. In traditional societies, religious leaders have played a significant role in community engagement activities for disease prevention. A community-level prevention model in Sri Lanka involved clergy support in COVID-19 prevention and response efforts, highlighting the importance of building trust, empowering behavioral traits, leadership, message dissemination, and other factors. This model demonstrates the potential for successful implementation in low-resource settings to address the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Development and Evaluation of the Atheist Identity Concealment Scale (AICS)

Summary: The study developed the Atheist Identity Concealment Scale (AICS) to assess the degree to which atheists hide their identity from others, providing researchers with a valid means to effectively measure atheist identity concealment. The scale, comprised of eight items, was validated through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses on three samples of over 500 adults in the USA, and its validity was further supported by examining its relationship with various established tools.

Individuals' Use of Religion in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic as Complementary to Their Use of Medically Recommended Responses

Historical Fundamentalism? Christian Nationalism and Ignorance About Religion in American Political History

Summary: This study suggests that Christian nationalism is strongly associated with Americans' explicit misconceptions regarding religion in American political history. The influence is stronger among white Americans compared to black Americans, and religiosity predicts selecting factually correct answers once Christian nationalism is taken into account. Those who reject Christian nationalism tend to give more confident and correct answers, while those who embrace it tend to give more confident but incorrect answers.

Conservation of Resources Theory and Spirituality at Work: When a Resource Is Not Always a Resource

Summary: The present study, based on the conservation of resources theory, explores the relationship between spiritual variables and professional efficacy. Using structural equation modeling, the results support the principles of the conservation of resources theory and identified the best-fit model for the data. This is the first study to examine the dynamic relationship between spirituality and personal resources from a conservation of resources perspective.

MENTAL HEALTH OF ROMA WOMEN IN POST-COVID ERA

Summary: This research aimed to analyze the mental health of adult women in the marginalized Roma community in western Slovakia. The study found that the women had lower levels of resilience, reduced mental health, and weakened resistance to sudden changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic or the impact of segregated life in Roma settlements. Age, sudden stress, COVID-19 infection, psychological factors, financial problems, low resilience and coping mechanisms, conflicts between generations, and increased alcoholism in the family were identified as factors influencing mental health.
