Summary: The current research examines the effectiveness of a prejudice reduction strategy used by Black college students, which involves signaling a college affiliation, in reducing the perceived risk of a Black man being seen as a criminal and racially profiled by police. The results showed that when a Black man displayed a college logo on his hoodie, he was perceived as significantly less likely to be seen as a criminal. However, the effect of college apparel on reducing the perceived risk of racial profiling by police was not consistent.

Summary: Teacher personality is an important predictor of job-related outcomes, and personality facets are more accurate in predicting outcomes than domains. This study found associations between teacher personality domains and incremental facets and indicators of job-related outcomes, with incremental facets playing a significant role in explaining the variance in these outcomes.

Summary: University students often experience symptoms of depression. The Dark Triad traits, including Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and narcissism, are associated with depression. A network analysis revealed significant positive correlations between these traits and specific depression symptoms. Psychopathy emerged as a central influence in the network, suggesting that targeting this trait may be effective in mitigating depression.

Summary: Conspiracy theories can have detrimental effects on individuals' behavior. This study explores the relationship between exposure to conspiracy theories and behavioral intentions, and the moderating role of the need to evaluate (NE). Results indicate that exposure to conspiracy narratives increases specific conspiracy beliefs, which in turn affect behavioral intentions, particularly for individuals with a high need to evaluate.

Summary: This study explores the relationship between intelligence and personality using responses from applicants to teacher training studies. The findings indicate that there is no consistent variation in personality responses among individuals with higher intelligence, but individuals with higher neuroticism have higher inter-scale correlations for intelligence measures. Additionally, the study also suggests that intelligence can impact the structure of multiscale personality measures, as lower intelligence scores are associated with higher inter-scale correlations for personality scales.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the distinctiveness of Environmental Sensitivity (ES) captured by the Highly Sensitive Person 12-item scale (HSP-12) from traditional personality traits and its independent contribution to psychological adjustment, as well as the influence of rearing environment. The study also explored the psychometric properties of HSP-12 and its invariance across countries (UK and Italy) and samples (university and general population). The results provided evidence that ES can be reliably assessed using HSP-12 across different countries and groups, and it is distinguishable from established personality traits. ES was found to be associated with lower well-being and negative affect beyond personality, and a caring environment played a buffering role.

Summary: This study explored the association between components constituting the basis for moral and optimal human functioning, including moral reasoning, moral identity, empathy, and purpose, through network analysis. Factor scores were used instead of composite scores for more accurate estimation. The results showed significant associations within and between the examined factors in the network. Despite the network invariance, the high civic engagement group demonstrated higher global connectivity and centrality indicators. These findings have implications for research on moral functioning based on moral psychology and virtue ethics.

Individuals with high levels of narcissism are more likely to disregard public health interventions, show COVID-19 disregard, have anti-vaccination attitudes, and have a stronger sense of entitlement. Men with high levels of narcissism are more likely than women with high levels of narcissism to not adhere to public health interventions and show COVID-19 disregard.

Summary: This research examines the relationships between the Dark Triad traits (Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) and support for different types of doxxing behaviors. Results show that all three Dark Triad traits are associated with greater support for doxxing. The study also finds that Machiavellianism and psychopathy have significant indirect effects on prank and bias doxxing behaviors through empathy, while narcissism has indirect effects in the opposite direction.
